Launched in January 2012, it\u2019s official name was Page layout algorithm improvement. However, the Top Heavy Update penalises sites that overdo it, especially when ads interfere with the user experience. Google always want to provide users with the best possible results, even if it is promoting ads from their own Adsense program.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criticisms For Google Top Heavy&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While an important update, there has been some criticisms \u2013 not for the intent of the update, but the fact that Google\u2019s own search results displayed several ads at the top of the page. This includes fast page loading times, responsive design, and clear navigation.
