The more descriptive the H1 tag, the easier it is for Google to understand the content on-page.

It Forms The First Impression For The Visitors

The H1 tag is typically the first visible element of a page for any visitor and forms the first impression, however there are some best practices for implementing a H1:

Use one H1 tag per page

Be sure your target keyword is referenced in the H1

H1 doesn’t not have to repeat the title tag

Make sure that each page you want to rank on Google has a designated H1 (AND it is different to the other pages on your website)

FAQs

Is it safe to have multiple H1 tags on a page?

While it is ‘safe’ to have multiple H1 tags on a page – it is always best practice to have one designated H1 tag per page for consistency in structure.

What’s the difference between the H1 tag and title tag?

The H1 tag and title tag are often used interchangeably. However, while both are headings, they differ based on where they appear.

The title tag appears on the SERP (search engine results page) at the top of the web browser. However, when a user clicks through to a page, it is not visible. The H1 tag, is the title that appears on the page.

How long should the H1 tag be?

There’s no limit for how long a H1 should be. So it can be as long as required, as long as it’s referencing the primary keyword for the page and looks visually appealing.

["post-24882","glossary","type-glossary","status-publish","hentry
["GET
